ACL Reconstruction and Rehabilitation:

Introduction : The ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) helps keep the knee stable. When it tears, the knee can feel weak, painful, or like it might “give way.”

Some people manage without surgery, but many—especially active individuals—undergo ACL reconstruction. While the surgery repairs the ligament, it does not automatically restore strength, balance, or confidence.

That part comes from proper physiotherapy and guided rehabilitation.

✅ DO’S

Follow your physiotherapist’s instructions strictly
Do exercises regularly, not forcefully
Use ice for pain and swelling (10–15 minutes)
Walk properly with support if advised
Eat healthy food and stay hydrated
Rest well and stay positive.

❌ DON’TS

Don’t skip physiotherapy sessions
Don’t squat, sit cross-legged, or use Indian toilets early
Don’t climb stairs or run without permission
Don’t ignore pain or swelling
Don’t rush back to sports or heavy work
Don’t compare your recovery with others
