Introduction: `Inside your knee, there is a small bone called the patella (kneecap).
Behind this kneecap, there is a smooth cartilage that helps your knee move without pain.
Chondromalacia Patella means: )Softening or damage of the cartilage behind the kneecap.
When this cartilage becomes weak or rough, the kneecap doesn’t glide smoothly and that’s when pain starts.
Why Does This Problem Happen?
Chondromalacia patella is very common because of today’s lifestyle. Some common reasons are:
· Weak thigh muscles (quadriceps)
· Tight muscles around the knee
· Overuse from running, jumping, or gym workouts
· Sudden increase in physical activity
· Previous knee injury
· Flat feet
What You Should Avoid ?
